Sanee’s plan was to graduate first, get a job, and save money to buy a house and settle down pero makulit lang talaga ang syota niya na gusto nang mag-live in kaya pumayag na rin siya dahil mahal naman niya ang binata.
Mayaman ang pamilya ni Mick; kilalang mahusay na negosyante ang mga magulang na may kanya-kanya nang buhay after separating due to career / family choices.
Being a single parent, Kay, raised Mick all by herself samantalang may sarili nang pamilyang binubuhay si Deen, Mick’s dad.
Mick studied in an exclusive university pero na-expel siya after a year nang mapasama sa isang frat war kaya inilipat siya sa isang public university kung saan naging magkaklase si Mick at Sanee at sa huli ay naging magsyota.
Ngayon ay ipapakilala ni Mick si Sanee na bagong miyembro ng kanilang pamilya over dinner in a fine restaurant.
“Dad, Mom…I would like you to meet Sanee. Sanee, my Dad Deen and Mom Kay,” pakilala ni Mick over dinner na ipinahanda niya para sa mga magulang.
“K-Kumusta po kayo…” nanginginig ngunit nakangiting bati ni Sanee sa mga magulang ni Mick.
“Hello Sanee, welcome to the family!” masiglang bati ng Deen na mabilis na nakipagbeso sa dalaga.
“Hi…” maikli at matumal na bati naman ni Kay na nakipagkamay lang kay Sanee.
Sanee thinks that the amiable Deen can be mistaken for a mature Tom Selleck as Sanee felt a certain tension with Flowers Tucci-like Kay in meeting them for the first time.
“Babe, ok lang talagang makipag-meet ako ngayon sa parents mo?”
“Don’t worry babe, I’ll take care of this…ganyan lang talaga si mom.”
“I hope so babe. Sana makuha ko ang bendisyon ng mom mo someday, alam mo namang dahil sa pagmamahal na ito ay tinikis at itinakwil ako ng pamilya ko nang mag-decide akong sumama sa iyo,” bulong ni Sanee habang naglalakad sila papuntang dining table.
“So what are your plans now Mick my boy?” tanong ni Deen pagkatapos makaupo sa harap ng dining table.
“We want to get married as soon as possible Dad…”
“Mick! Really? Ganoon na lang ba yun? Pag-aasawa agad? Saan kayo titira? Saan ka kukuha ng pansustento ninyo? You don’t even have a job!” sagot ni Kay
“Yun nga Ma eh. I was hoping you could help us.”
“And how could I help you then?” Kay said sarcastically.
“Come on Mom! Dad…?” sabi ni Mick na umaapela since his Mom cannot be reasoned with right now.
“Mick, your mom’s right…you don’t have any specific job skills nor any work experience. Saan ka hahanap ng pangsustento ninyo araw-araw?
“Then tell me what to do Dad…lahat gagawin ko to prove I can be a good husband to Sanee and a good son to you.”
“Good. Starting tomorrow you’ll be working for me. You start as a clerk of course and as my apprentice for two years or more. After that, if I see you fit enough to hold one of my companies, then I will let you manage it. Bago ko ibigay ang kotse, syempre dapat maga-aaral ka munang magmaneho.”
“But I can drive a car dad…”
“I’m speaking figuratively son.”
“And I assume na habang nagtatarabaho ang anak mo sa iyo, sa bahay ko titira ang girlfriend niya,” ani Kay kay Deen.
“Do you have a problem with that Kay? Alam mo namang full-time housewife and mom si Lexi.”
“Yeah I know…no ambition at all.”
“Don’t go there.”
“I’m just saying. Bakit ako, nagawa kong palakihin ang anak ko while managing my career? You always like to be in control! Am just glad we live separate ways now, otherwise…”
“Mom! Dad! Stop it! You’re embarrassing my girlfriend!”
“And don’t worry by the way, ako na rin ang baha…
