Hi! I’m Dr. Katrina Charimaine Chua or Doc KC to my patients or simply KC to my close friends and family.
I just finished my residency as pediatrician and I already had a plan to have my own clinic at St Lukes Quezon City. Plan ko sana sa St Lukes BGC but my senior doctor convinced me to stay at QC. I have an edge since I’m fluent in fookien and mandarin which comprise mostly of her patients. Medyo pa retire na din kasi siya at hindi na din siya masyadong tumatanggap ng pasyente. She have 2 sons and a daughter pero naiba ang linya. Her daughter opted to be a Cardio Pulmo while her two sons opted to be a lawyer and an engineer. Urologist naman ang husband niya at medyo pa retire na din siya.
Saktong may bakante nang clinic space sa hospital and I grabbed the opportunity. A new beginning ika nga nila. I just broke up with my boyfriend Matt dahil hindi niya maintindihan ang trabaho ko. I met him thru a common friend in high school and we became couples before I entered my residency.
All the while I thought that Matt understands my work pero hindi pala. Minsan kasi I have to rush to the hospital lalo na pag may mga premature babies. Ewan ko ba di ako makatulog pag alam kong may mga pre-mature babies sa neo-natal department or mga babies na mataas ang WBC nung lumabas. Minsan magigising ako ng madaling araw and I would rush to the hospital. Minsan naman aside from single mom ay may mga single dad din akong nakakahalubilo.
Madalas mga single dad ang nag tetext sa akin especially pag may concern sila sa anak nila. Mas nerbyoso kasi sila kesa sa mga single mom. Just like single moms they juggled their work and the time for their kids. Out of appreciation they would give me pasalubong from their trips here or abroad. Hindi naman mamahalin pero na-totouch ako dahil na aapreciate nila ang effort ko. Dito madalas magselos ang boyfriend kong si Matt. Sometimes some single dad would mingle with me pero hanggang usap at kwentuhan lang kami. Alam din nila kung pano dumistansya and mostly general topics naman ang pinag uusapan namin and nothing obscene.
Matt broke up with me and he told me na pagod na daw siya sa akin. PWES! PAGOD NA DIN AKO SA KANYA! Palibhasa trust fund baby kasi! I cried for several weeks after our break-up dahil matinding emotions din ang binigay ko sa kanya. I gave him everything and I always make up with my lost time with him pero di niya ito naa-appreciate. 5 years of love and emotions din ang pinundar ko sa kanya kaya super sakit para sa akin but I have to move on. Tanging mga bata na pasyente ko ang nagpapasaya sa akin. Minsan may isa akong pasyenteng bata who would tell me na “Doktora date mo ang daddy ko please”.
She was a cute girl. Her name is Sophia. She was 5 years old at kahawig niya si Jillian Ward nung bata. Her father’s name is Vince. He was tall, tisoy at may sense of humor kausap. Para siyang si Ken Chan at talagang hands on siya sa pagpapalaki sa anak niya. I gave in to Sophia’s request since alam ko na wala namang issue. Single ako while his dad is a widow.
It’s been more than 3 months since Matt and I broke up. Maski papaano ay nakaka move on na ako. Thanks to the kids at napapawi ang mga lungkot ko. They would invite me to their birthday party and sometimes they would tease me with their uncles who are eligible bachelors. I dated some of those guys and they are fun to be with. Gentleman naman sila pero hindi pa ako ready for a new relationship. Minsan kinakanchawan na din ako ng mommy ko. Hindi ka naman panget pero bakit ayaw mo pang buksan ang puso mo? Ewan ko ba. Hindi ko pa nakikita ang X-factor ko sa isang lalake. Walang spark eh.
My mom has a point. Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang pero maaski papaano ay may itsura ako. I stand 5’7″, morena with a shoulder lengthed hair, a vital stats of 34C-26-35. Some of friends describe me as the young version of Miriam Quiambao. Di din maiiwasan ang pangkakanchaw ng nanay ko sa akin since I was already 30 years old that time.
Ok na ang naging takbo ng practice ko as pediatrician when a typhoon hit a province in Cagayan Valley. Heavy rainpour and strong winds sabay nagka dengue out break pa. Some of my classmates volunteered themselves to the province and I saw an opportunity to move on totally. They are tapped by the Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce or known as The Chamber. A socio-civic group na tumutulong sa mga nangangailangan thru rescue mission, free medical and legal assistance ans they are giving scholarships to deserving students nationwide. I enlisted myself for the medical mission and we rode on a C130 aircraft with ambulances and medicines courtesy of The Chamber’s Manila Chapter.
We landed at the airport in the province and we are welcomed by a group of Chamber members led by Engr. Kelvin Ang. He was tall, tisoy, and very charming. Kahawig niya ang asawa ni Shamcey Supsup. He was very accomodating and we rode his luxurious van going to his newly built warehouse complex. Humingi kasi sa kanya ng tulong ang provincial government since crowded na ang mga evacuation centers nila at nagkukulang na din sila sa mga doctors and medicines. He showed us around his complex at grabe parang FTI ang itsura niya. Big time contractor ang pamliya niya and they are into hardware and industrial supplies. Wala na kaming sinayang na oras after the tour at diretso trabaho na kami kahit na pagod. It was a tiring first day pero nakakataba ng puso ang makatulong. Naawa din ako sa kanila since most of them ay kailangan pang magbenta ng kung ano ano para makapag pakonsulta sa doktor.
Kelvin even helped us sa mga kailangan namin. He even lend us his ambulances for our disposal. Nakwento niya sa amin that his father was inspired with the story of Mr. Ube kaya ginaya niya ito on how to give back to the community. May grupo din sila ng mga firefighter voulnteers who are very quick responders lalo na sa mga sunog. Simple lang si Kelvin at walang ere sa katawan. He was educated in UST with a degree in Civil Engineering. Dito kami mas naka connect sa isa’t isa since UST din ako from pre-med to med proper. Two batch higher siya sa akin. We also both studied at a chinese school during high school. He studied at Chiang Kai Shek College who has a rigid chinese curriculum while I studied at ICA Greenhills AKA Sossy Girls sabi nila.
Kelvin: ICA? Wow sossy. sigurado hatid sundo ka ng Land Cruiser or Chedeng.
Me: Grabe ka naman sir. Commute lang kaya ako.
Pabirong hirit ko sa hirit niya sa akin.
Me: I just got my car nung nag college ako. Hand me down pa ng kuya ko.
Kelvin: Same pala tayo.
Kelvin and I have so many things in common at super cowboy siya for a rich kid. I can call him by his name in which he prefer. He also became my knight and shining armor especially pag may nagwawalang pasyente dahil mahaba ang pila. He would talk to them in their local dialect upang mapakalma mga ito. Super galing niya sa diplomacy and he’s down to earth. There was even a time that a lunatic patient tried to hit me and he covered me with his body para di ako tamaan. The guy was immediately sent to the local authorities for sacntions.
Almost 1 month din kami sa nasabing probinsya and he treated us for a fancy dinner. Tapos na din kasi ang medical mission namin sa nasabing probinsya at pauwi na kami kinabukasan. He was so generous at talagang magaling siyang bumangka sa kwentuhan. Parang classroom kung saan lahat nag paparticipate ng kwento. He was so kind and he was such a gentleman.
After our dinner we went back to our place but Kelvin invited me to his bachelor’s pad. Ako lang din kasi ang single sa mga babae. Lahat sila may mga asawa at anak na. He showed me with some of his toys like cars and guns. He love guns and cars and he’s also into practical shooting. Then we went to his entertainment room at nagkayayaang manood ng movie. Pinapili niya ako and I chose a romantic movie that time. Dito pasimple na siyang umakbay sa akin. Gusto ko sanang pumalag pero baka sabihin niya OA ako.
We just continued to watch the movie at nang matapos ito he gently touched my face and gave me a kiss on the forehead. Napapikit ako nang mga oras na iyon at nagsitayuan ang mga balahibo ko. He gently kissed me on the lips at napalaban din ako sa laplapan. We kissed each other hanggang sa mahimasmasan ako.
Me: Kelvin we’re not supposed to do this.
Kelvin: KC, I like you.
Muli niya akong hinalikan sa labi. Pumalag ako sa kanya pero dahan dahan akong bumigay sa halik niya. His kiss was just like a kryptonite na nagpahina sa buong katawan ko. He continued to kiss me habang yakap niya ako sa bewang. While he was kissing me ay dahan dahan naman niyang inangat ang dress ko. This time pinigilan ko ang kamay niya then he kissed me on the neck. I was aroused that time at wala akong nagawa kung hindi ang bumigay sa request niya.
He succeeded on taking off my dress at naka bra at panty na lang ako. Tumayo siya and he took off his shirt and pants. Dahan dahan niya akong hiniga sa sofa at pumatong siya sa akin. He kissed me on the lips again going down to my neck, down to my clevage. While he was kissing me on my clevage he took off my bra and started to lick my nipples alternately.
